What a great article written by the Stamford Mercury’s Andrea Scholes.

Back in January this year, Dynamics Cleaners Limited registered our details with a programme called DIY SOS filmed by the BBC channel. We have been selected as one of the cleaning companies together with other trades to help transform a house for a family in Scunthorpe.

We are very humbled here at Dynamics Cleaners Limited and also honoured to be part of such a programme.

As Andrea Scholes written:

A cleaning company helped to transform the lives of a grief-stricken family by taking part in the BBC show DIY SOS: The Big Build.

A team from Dynamics Cleaners in Little Bytham spent two days filming the episode in Scunthorpe.

The project centred around Caroline Blanchard whose husband and daughter died after separate incident at the family home.

Natasha died after hitting her head in the garage and Paul later suffered a heart attack in the conservatory.

As a result the two rooms evoked painful memories for the family so the team set about transforming those areas to help Caroline and her two children move on.

Company director Tim Wade described it as ‘’an amazing experience’’ and one of his team would love to repeat.

The 41 year old, of Stamford Road, Ketton, said: ‘’ If you can create that much happiness from doing such a small thing, it’s worth it, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.

I don’t think there was a dry eye in the group for the reveal. The family was so overwhelmed.’’

Tim travelled to Scunthorpe last Monday with employees Ian Clark, Ryan Clark and Ashley Mee for their part in the project.

Over the two days they put in about 60 hours between them, clearing up after the volunteers and crew.

Tim said: ‘’It was amazing to be part of it. There was aobut 140 people every day but it just seemed to work. It was so well organised.’’

Dureing and after filming there was plenty of time to get to know the show’s personalities including presenter Nick Knowles and tradesman Billy Byrne.

Tim joked:’’ Billy’s as small in real life as he looks on the telly. They were all more than happy to chat and pose for photos.’’

At the end of the filming Nick told the volunteers: ‘’We weren’t sure ourselves whether we could do this as a five-day build, but it’s pretty amazing what you’ve achieved. Remember that you’ve made the change, not us.’’

The BBC is still to announce when the episode will be screened, so watch this space! 😀

The great team at Dynamics Cleaners Ltd. would like to thank the BBC for such opportunity.
